The overall roles and responsibilities of the Knowledge Management Coordinator are to create, collect, assimilate, process, disseminate and monitor and evaluate the knowledge, information and innovations systems – encompassing big picture of agriculture and agri-food systems for Sustainable Development in the Asia-Pacific Region.
The Asia-Pacific Association of Agricultural Research Institutions (APAARI) announced a vacancy for the position of Agricultural Science and Technology Indicators (ASTI) Coordinator/Economist to be posted at APAARI Headquarters at Bangkok, Thailand. The coordinator of ASTI programme will co-ordinate and implement the project in Southeast Asia and the Pacific and work with APAARI professional team on enhancing investment in agri-food research and innovations in Asia and the Pacific.
From 22-23 March 2017, APAARI participated in the regional conference ‘LET’S GET TO WORK – Building a food secure future’ held in Ha Noi, Viet Nam. The conference focused on reduction of food waste and food losses to implement new solutions for the relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It was organized by the Government of the Netherlands and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) Vietnam, in close cooperation with the World Bank, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Grow Asia, Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
APAARI is looking to systematize its Knowledge Management (KM) efforts to drive innovative ideas, learning and collaboration. In particular, it will: (i) develop a KM approach that will become an important part of APAARI’s strategic planning; (ii) enhance KM infrastructure, processes and tools to better inform and engage APAARI stakeholders; (iii) improve KM capacity of stakeholders; (iv) enhance policy advocacy to strengthen research-policy interface; and (v) use improved KM to mobilize resources for agricultural research and innovation.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experienced and interested individuals for the position of Coordinator- Knowledge Management (CKM) with APAARI. The position is based at APPARI Office, FAO Annex Building in Bangkok, Thailand.
The overall roles and responsibilities of CKM are to create, assimilate, reorganise, manage, disseminate and monitor and evaluate the knowledge, information and innovations systems – encompassing big picture of agriculture and agri-food systems – for Sustainable Development in the Asia-Pacific Region. The person appointed will be in-charge of the current Asia-Pacific Agricultural Research Information System (APARIS), a core and substantive Program of APAARI.
This call for applications of the Dryland Cereals Scholarship Program is being funded by the CGIAR Research Program on Dryland Cereals (CRP-DC) and is administered by the Asia-Pacific Association of Agricultural Research Institutions (APAARI). The program will provide funding support for PhD degree for research work to promising young scientists who are / or will be working on barley, finger millet, pearl millet, and sorghum, in the disciplines of agriculture economics, food science, nutrition, molecular genetics, plant breeding, integrated crop management, environmental physiology, entomology, plant pathology, and gender studies.
