A new network designed to share the latest agricultural knowledge among Asia-Pacific governments and other stakeholders and extend that knowledge to front line farmers, fishers and other land users was launched on 17 December 2014 in Bangkok. The joint launch involved FAO, the Asia Pacific Association of Agricultural Research Institute (APAARI) and CAPSA.

The aim of this competition is to support innovators and encourage them to make ideas and techniques reality, in order to address the challenges that the agriculture and forestry sectors need to face due to climate change, and support sustainable development.
As part of its activities to strengthen South-South dialogue and intraregional learning on sustainable agriculture and trade facilitation, SATNET Asia is working with diverse stakeholders to reduce food insecurity in the Asia-Pacific region. An example of such partnership is the recent intraregional study tour programme involving South and South-East Asian smallholder value-chain actors that took place in Cambodia, India, Nepal and Thailand.
