Writeshop on translating research findings into knowledge accessible and understandable to farmers, 11-14 June 2013, Bogor, Indonesia
This capacity-building event aims to reduce the knowledge gap between research and practice by enhancing the capacity of Indonesian extension workers to identify the most compelling findings from the work of researchers, package, present and disseminate these findings to farmers in a practical form. It will offer an opportunity to deepen participants' understanding of knowledge issues and gaps between research and extension, enhance their communication skills, share best practices, learn to write targeted knowledge products and better engage with both researchers and farmers. The event is being organized in partnership between CAPSA and the Indonesian Center for Agricultural Technology Assessment and Development (ICATAD)
SATNET Regional Workshop on Climate Resilient Small Holder Agricultural Farming Systems in South Asia, 24-27 June, 2013, New Delhi, India
The workshop will review the latest global and regional developments in the area of climate change adaptation as well as contribute to strengthening the capacity of key stakeholders for promoting climate resilient farming systems for the benefit of small holder farmers. It will comprise of two parts, namely a regional consultation with a focus on climate change adaptation linked with Disaster Risk Reduction and improved resilience for communities, followed by a training to enhance the knowledge amongst value chain actors for dissemination, adaptation and adoption of climate friendly farming practices. The event is being organized by CAPSA and the Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology in partnership with the United Nations Disaster Management Team in India
Workshop on identifying sustainable agricultural technologies and translating research findings into information accessible to extension workers and farmers, 1-5 July 2013, Islamabad, Pakistan
The workshop aims to build the capacity of researchers in Pakistan to identify sustainable technologies and recognize the most compelling findings from their research, process, present and disseminate these findings to development practitioners. It will offer an opportunity to enhance participants' analytical and communication skills, share best practices, learn to write targeted knowledge products and better engage in policy dialogue to influence their key stakeholders. The workshop is being organized in partnership between CAPSA and the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council

Meeting on agricultural technology transfer called for science-policy partnership to benefit smallholder farmers
Government officials from agricultural ministries, representatives of national agricultural research centres, universities, multilateral and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from around the Asia-Pacific region met in Bogor, Indonesia on 13 February 2013. Over 30 representatives from government, civil society and international organizations involved in the Network for Knowledge Transfer on Sustainable Agricultural Technologies and Improved Market Linkages in South and South-East Asia (SATNET Asia) met on 12 February 2013 in Bogor to define concrete training activities to be implemented in the upcoming year to promote the diffusion of sustainable agriculture technologies and trade facilitation measures for agro and food products in South and South-East Asia ![]()

The Second International Conference on Creativity and Innovation at Grassroots (ICCIG) took place from 3 to 5 December 2012 at the Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, Tianjin City, China, and from 7 to 8 December 2012 at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Write to express, not to impress: highlights of the writeshop on translating research into practice
The writeshop on translating research findings into knowledge accessible to extension workers and farmers took place from 12 to 14 November 2012 at CAPSA in Bogor, Indonesia. This capacity building event aimed to improve the existing knowledge gap between research and practice that was also confirmed by the baseline study of SATNET in May-June 2012. The programme targeted SATNET participants from Southeast Asia. A total of 19 persons participated in the writeshop, representing Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Myanmar, and the Philippines
CAPSA presents SATNET at the International Seminar on Enhancement of Grassroots Competitiveness for Poverty Reduction in Yogyakarta, 16-18 October 2012
On 16-18 October, CAPSA participated in the International Seminar on Enhancement of Grassroots Competitiveness for Poverty Reduction in Yogyakarta to present a paper entitled "Innovation Network for Food Security and Poverty Reduction." The seminar focused on improving the competitiveness of grassroots innovations (GRI) through scouting, research and development (R&D), commercialization and networking. ![]()
